Frames and tables only line up in a monospace font. Your search is never sent to a server.
How to use
Pick and copy decorations drawn out of characters — dividers, borders, hearts, stars, flowers. Categories fold away, and search works in any of four languages. Search terms never leave your browser.
When to use it
- Separating sections in a note or a post with a divider.
- Dressing up a heading so it stands out.
- Adding a flourish to a profile or status line.
How to use it
- Type something like "divider", "heart" or "border" into search, or paste a character to look it up.
- Or browse by category: dividers, hearts, stars, flowers, weather, emphasis, decoration.
- Tap one to copy it immediately.
Good to know
- Borders and table shapes only line up in a monospace font. In a proportional font the rows drift.
- Pieces built from rare characters may show as empty boxes on some devices.
- Characters are copied exactly as they are — no font or colour is applied.
- Nothing you type is recorded anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
The rows do not line up after pasting.
That happens in fonts where characters have different widths. Borders and tables look right in a monospace font — a code editor, a terminal, some chat apps. A single-line divider is fine almost anywhere.
How is this different from emoji?
Emoji are drawn as pictures by the device; these are ordinary characters. They take the colour of your text and look the same everywhere, as long as the font includes them.
Can I make big letters or convert a photo?
Big letters drawn from characters are the big text tool, and turning a photo into characters is the photo to text art tool.
I cannot find the decoration I want.
The special characters tool has far more symbols by category. Collect a few there and string them together to build exactly the ornament you have in mind.
