QR Code Generator
QR codes for links, Wi-Fi, contacts, email and texts
Input
Colours and shape
A higher level can still be read when part is covered, but the pattern may become denser. For short content a higher level may be used automatically.
Scanning with a phone camera offers to join this network. The name and password you type stay in this browser and are never sent to a server. Some devices or security types may not join automatically.
Preview
Everything you enter stays in your browser and is never uploaded or stored. JPG is not offered: it is lossy and can blur the pattern edges enough to break scanning.
How to use
Creates QR codes not only for links and text but for Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, email and SMS. Choose the error-correction level and download size, and see the version and module count of the result. Everything is processed inside your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored.
When to use it
- Putting a Wi-Fi join code on the wall of a shop or office.
- Adding a link QR to a flyer or a menu.
- Putting contact details on a business card.
How to use it
- Choose what to encode — text/URL, Wi-Fi, contact card, email, SMS or phone.
- Fill in the fields and the preview updates immediately.
- Pick an error-correction level; higher survives more damage.
- Choose a download size and press Download PNG, or Download SVG for a copy that stays sharp at any size.
Good to know
- Even the Wi-Fi password never leaves your browser — it is turned into the pattern locally.
- JPG is not offered. Lossy compression blurs the edges of the pattern and can make it unreadable.
- For short content a higher correction level may be chosen automatically, and the screen says when that happens.
- If the content is too long for one code, you are told to shorten it or lower the level.
- Wi-Fi codes do not auto-join on every device or security type.
Frequently asked questions
Which error-correction level should I use?
It is the margin that keeps a code readable when it is dirty or partly covered. For print and outdoor use, 25% or higher is safer; for on-screen display, 15% is plenty. Higher levels make the pattern denser.
How does the Wi-Fi code work?
Enter the network name, password and security type. A guest points their camera at it and is asked whether to join — no reading passwords aloud, and far better than writing one on the wall.
My printed code will not scan.
Usually it is printed too small, lacks quiet space, or has smeared. Leave white margin of at least one module on every side, print it at 2–3cm or larger, and consider a higher correction level.
Can I change the colours or add a logo?
Yes. Under Colours and shape you can set the foreground and background, round off the dots, and drop an image into the middle. Scanning still comes first, so there are limits: if the contrast ratio falls below 4.5 the code is drawn in plain black and white and says so, and a centre image may cover at most 10% of the area, with error correction raised to its highest level the moment you add one.
Do the codes expire?
No. The content lives inside the pattern itself, so the code keeps working regardless of this site — unlike codes that point at a shortening service which may disappear.
